Accessibility Statement

Effective date: October 21, 2026

This page describes how this demo site was built, not a commitment made by a real practice. Northbend Family Dental is a fictional practice; this is Julia Profit Studio's own accessibility approach, shown here as an example.

Our standard

This site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In practice that means text contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 (3 to 1 for large text), full keyboard navigation, visible focus outlines and labeled form fields.

The Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 1557

Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to businesses that serve the public, including dental offices, and courts have applied it to websites. Practices that receive federal financial assistance, such as Medicaid payments, are also covered by Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most commonly used to judge a website. This statement shows a good-faith effort to build to that standard. It is not a legal opinion or a guarantee of compliance.

What is built in

  • A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page
  • Semantic HTML with one h1 per page and no skipped heading levels
  • Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, not only a mouse hover state
  • Tap targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels
  • Every form field has a visible label, and form errors are announced to screen readers and move focus to the first problem
  • The booking calendar uses real buttons: each day is read out with its full date, and closed days and taken times are announced as not available
  • Booking steps, the insurance check and the emergency checklist announce what changed, and each choice reports whether it is selected
  • The price tabs, the membership options and the emergency checklist are native radio buttons and checkboxes
  • The membership and financing results are announced to screen readers as they change
  • The moving list of towns has a Pause button outside the moving strip, stops under the mouse, and does not move at all when a visitor's system asks for reduced motion
  • The insurance help box is a native dialog: Escape closes it and focus returns where it was. It never opens on phones or tablets
  • Every section and every price shows without JavaScript; the booking, insurance and emergency tools show plain instructions instead

Known limits

An accessibility statement is evidence of a careful build, not a certification. The Cloudflare Turnstile widget on the forms is provided by a third party, and this site cannot change how it works with assistive technology.

Help in the office and in other languages

Free aids for people with disabilities and free language help are described in the Non-discrimination Notice.

Feedback

If any part of this demo site is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader or a magnifier, please tell us. Call (704) 555-0129 (demo number) and describe the page and the problem. A real practice would respond within a set number of business days; this demo has no staff to do so.
